Howdy.i just got a 1983 chevy k5 blazer.how do i engage the front axle?

Details... Do you have manual hubs on the front axle (in the middle of the wheel) or automatic? If automatic, they 'should' engage on their own. I say 'should' because they can get gummed up and fail to work. If manual, you simply have to turn them to the 'lock' position. Of course for either to work, you have to put the transfer case into 4wd.
