a friend of mine has bought a 1975 Blazer (Tag-Number: CKY185F121xxx) and he has found a curious number on the frame, in the right front wheel house.
The number he has found could be seen on the attached photo. Unfortunately we are no experts on the Chevy Blazer, but we need to find out, what number that is.
It has 18 digits (not 17 as VIN usually have up from a certain year).
If you remove the first digit, the number would fit to a 1988 Blazer.
Can anyone give some explanation of that number found on the frame? Is that number looking as factory-original?
thanks,
Andreas
It is normal for the manufacturer to stamp the VIN into the frame (my '88 has it on top of the frame rail, approximately under the front passenger's foot), but I have never seen one stamped so sloppily. That definitely looks home-brew to me.
