Default window problem

hey guys, I was wondering if any body knows where I can get the bolt that holds the window arm to the motor. mine broke or came loose some time back, and i'm tired of pulling the window up by hand. its not very secure either when you have a cd player, CB, and other stuff in it that you do not want to go missing! if nobody knows which bolt i'm talking about I'll snap a picture of it and get it on here. the thing is not really a bolt, (does not have threads on it) it has a flat top on it about the size of a quarter, in the middle it is about half that size, and at the end it is even smaller, but right at the end it is flared some what, and has cut marks on it, like from a hack saw blade, in the shape of a star. I do not know if this is original or if somebody has had this apart before.

What might you be driving...? Are you talking about the manual crank handle or power?

sorry about that I Forgot to list that. its on my 85 K5 blazer, and it has power windows. its on the arm that hooks to the regulater on the window and the gear wheel, or what ever you want to call it, both have a hole in it and this bolt thing i'm talking about holds both together.

Do you have a picture that you could post or could you take one and post it? Is this the tailgate window or a side window?

If it is a side door, I can take a look at the doors I have out at my dad's (came off of my 1990 suburban I am parting out) and snap a picture of how it is supposed to be.

Once I know what it is you are talking about, I can snap some pictures of the inside of my extra doors off the suburban next time I am down there (looking like Wednesday will be the next day).

hey sorry it took me so long to post these pictures, but my computer crashed and I just got it working again.
the first and second pictures are the bolt I was talking about.
the third is, the arm with the bolt in it.
the fourth is, the arm in place but without the bolt.
and the fifth is, the arm moved away from the gear wheel so you can see the other side.
hope this helps.

What you have there is the original staked fastener. It is a rivet of sorts. It is not supposed to be off like that, obviously. If you have access to a welder, you can weld it back in. It is meant to be tight against the back supporting piece and give enough room for the arm to pivot. It should have a thin plastic washer under the face of it to keep down on noise.

ok so that means i cant just get a new one and put it on, because its something the factory did with a machine? as for the welder I do not have access to one. I'm thinking about just cutting a larger hole in the door and seeing if I can put a normal bolt in it, sense the door pad will cover it anyway. I'm guessing that would work as long as I can get a bolt that will be flush with the arm and the back of the gear wheel.

The problem is that clearance may be an issue.
