wont idle!

Angry wont idle!

I have a 1978 k5 that i cant get the idle.. I just put new plugs and wires in it.

Check your distributor cap, it might be turned the wrong way which would cause it to stop idling.

If you have another person you can have them start it and stay on the gas just enough to keep her running and then fiddle with the cap, turn it a little and see if she idles, if not just repeat the process.

Thank you ill go give that a try right now. Is there any way it could be the carb?

I could be a fuel problem. Was it working fine before you replaced the plugs and wires?

Yeah if it were me, I'd take a good look at the cap and the components under it. Something might be corroded or maybe just need cleaned.

Edit, Really? What did you do?

the cap is really loose but i turned it like an 8th of a inch and it got it to drive down the road a bit then died again. i think im going to get a new cap
