There are 2 connectors that are close to the carb but not hooked up and don't seem to connect to anything. One connector does have 2 connections like what would connect to the mixture solenoid but doesn't fit. I need to find a wiring diagram for fuel system or a diagram for the wiring harness. I think it is strange to have connectors just hanging out without a place to go. I goal is to have a stock running truck that will pass smog.

Bummer - wish I had seen this sooner. Our family purchased an original 1986 K5 Blazer here in california and I just rebuilt the carb. Although it's an '86 it was purchased in Sept of 1985 (now with 230k miles). The carbs might be slightly different as it is a Cali car - not Federal. The specs are: 350, 700R4 Trans, AC, 4x4 with tow package. The part number I have for the quadrajet is: #17085508.
The carb I have has 5 electrical plugs going into it (1 to Idle solenoid, 1 to the Thermostat housing for high idle, 1 three prong (round connector - presumed for the ecu) 1 black twin bladed connector and one sensor connector (close to the mounting bolt). I think i have a wiring diagram at home and can load a pic of the completed set up when I get there...

so i dont know how your state im standards are , but i had a problem with mine (86' 350) w/quadjet . throttle shaft was worn out , (common problem) so i decided to change it out with another carb ( head ache ) in our state the emmision standards state the vehicle MUST pass with the oem engine and carb requirments (irregaurdless of what replacement engine or carb is used) i went with a edlelbrock manifold and carb combo, (the 600 cfm emmisions carb electric choke ) and it took seven different main /secondary jets/and five different metering rods , to get the right combo , to make mine meet the emmission spec ! not to mention the head ache of trying to figure out where every vaccum line was to go ?????
word of advice (that i found out afterwords)
there is a company that makes a replacement quadrajet , it costs nearly twice as much ,BUT...... if i were to do it again ..... i would go that way ! if i remember correctly , they are available from summit racing.com (the replacement quadrajet)

forgot to post these pics....this is the factory set up including AIR injection (but with an EGR Edelbrock manifold added). The alternator and air cleaner were left off for more clarity. I wanted to post a wiring/vacuum diagram but might run into copyright issues. I highly recommend a factory service manual but if thats not possible Chilton's #28622 is a good alternative. Again, this is a california set-up so federal should have less items or different connectors.
