Default 03 blazer tip

Had to change my rad out on my 03 2dr LS. (Tranny cooler pin hole!!!) Drain plug is fun to get to , even funner to open and close. Took the new one, which had a square tab to turn it, cut the end off one of my larger screw drivers ( nice firm rubbery material) dremeled a slot for the tab and carefully tapped it into place. Also added notches to the outside edge for better grip with oil fingers. And Voila, works like a charm. Easy to loosen and tighten. Hope it helps.

Nice! I hate the poor access to the radiator drain and the lack of a way to direct the coolant as it drains.

Any pictures?

Default Rad drain

Finally got a pic of the peacock (what a dumb name) with the added bit of screwdriver handle attached. Also that yellow cap is to stop the dribble I was getting Friday after i reflushed the system to get the remaining tranny fluid out. For some reason even though the plug was fully screwed in tight and I checked the little rubber stopper on the tip of it was secure it wouldn't seal. I've since added a stock style compression hose clamp to it to make sure it doesn't slip off, even though it fit on the side drain very tight, I don't want any surprises this winter. Since it seems to have solved the leakage problem I'm leaving it as is till this spring, when I'll install the warranty replacement rad. Also planning installing some silicone tubing onto the side drain, caped or plugged and tucked out the way to make fluid changes less messy, along with another screwdriver handle piece.
