Default 1996 Brake Job

I have a 96 Blazer LT 4 door, 4WD that finally needs new brakes.

I've done a bunch of brake jobs before, but never on a Blazer. Is it the same as any other car, or is there something I need to know? Also, can anyone recommend the best rotors and pads to use?

Yes, from brake jobs I've done, their fundamentally the same. I installed a package from rockauto.com that came with new cross drilled and slotted rotors that also came with ceramic pads all the way around on my '98. They're Powerstop Evolution. So far I'm happy with them, though they're too new for me to swear by them. I took a quick look for the same package for a '96 and it looks like them have the package for $143.00. Below is the link, but be sure too check the info for yourself to make sure they apply to your truck. Go to rockauto because even though the pic only shows the front brakes, the part #K300336 states the package contains front and rear. You might want to call them if you go this route.

Thanks. Some great prices on that site.

I have drums in the rear...so I'll just pickup the fronts.
