Question 1996 chevy blazer timing chain

Does anyone know what the labor cost should be for replacing the timing chain and gears on a 1996 blazer?

From a search,its about 7.8 hours for a 93. So,figure $60+/- labor,plus parts. Ouch...Why do you want to replace em?

1996 is 7.8 warranty time, that's what GM pays the dealer when the vehicle is under warranty. Customer pay, (retail) shows 12.4 hours. Timing cover must also be replaced, and a crankshaft position sensor relearn performed afterwards. Again, why do you want to replace it? Chain problems are not common on the 4.3L engine.

the engine will crank and spark but wont fire have changed the coil computer cam sensor so looked at chain it is real sloppy and loose loos as if it could be a tooth off or enough slop to cause no fire. shut it off 1 night next morn it was like this not my blazer so not sure of its history

what about fuel? check the pressure, with a real gauge. a "stick a knife in the nozzle to see if it shoots out gas" doesnt work on a blazer. they are touchy with required pressure.
