Default 2000 gmc jimmy 2door 4x4 gas gauge not working

Brand new here guys. Got a 2000 gmc jimmy 2 door 4x4 with 80k miles on it. My fuel gauge just stays at 3/4 tank and bounces from empty to full. Whats the fix for this? Should I buy the sender off ebay? How good would this fix be? Or am I better off buying a new fuel pump? Also is there a fuel pump access panel on the 2 door jimmys? Any info would be great. Thanks fellas.

Welcome to the forum from Canada!
Have you checked out the fuel level sensor? My '01 has a bad gas reading too. It bounces all over the place and will show as being empty way before it actually it. I believe it's the fuel level sensor. I've heard it happens quite a bit with the Blazers.

Mine did that, only it would go down to 1/2 tank and then start going back up. Replaced the pump and sensor, since they are one unit. I couldn't find anyone selling them seperate. Works like it should now. There is no access panel that I know off, at least not on a 2000 Blazer.
