Default 2002 Bumper Trailer Ball Mounting

I want to stick a ball in the bumper on my '02 but can't see how to get the plug out of there. Does the whole trim plate have to come up first? How does that thing attach? I can't find any bolts, does it just snap in and out?

Thanks.

It just snaps into place. I'm not sure if you need to cut the hole for the ball or not tho. Shouldn't be too hard to cut if u have to.

Yep, gotta cut a hole...

One of the first things I did when I acquired my 04 was to put an actual receiver hitch on it and replace the cut up plastic pad with a non cut one from the junk yard.

I don't trust towing from just the bumper. Honestly I don't think it should even be an option...

That's alright, I feel 100% confident pulling my # 500 GW AL boat and trailer with the bumper. And I got a plug that mounts flush through a 1 1/4" hole in the bumper so I don't have any dangling wires.
