Cool 96 Blazer what to watch for

I just aquired my first S10 Blazer. Its a 96 2 door 4x4 automatic 155k miles. It was givin to me by a friend after sitting for 3 years under the assumption that the fuel pump was out. A new fuel pump got it on the road but the tranny slips. I put up another thread on that regarding rebuilding stock or shift kit. Other than that what should i prep/ watch out for before putting this vehicle on the road and trusting it for offroading? i will be installing a hitch and puling a couple small trailers as well. Two offroad bikes on one and a 2000 pound 14 ft boat on the other. any suggestions comments are welcome thanks, zach

Did you change fuel filter after you changed pump? You can burn up a new pump if the filter is restricting fuel.
