Default 97 blazer parts interchangeable with 2000?

I have a 97 chevy blazer that has something wrong with the motor...its making a knocking sound, (I have checked oil) and I am considering buying a 2000 chevy blazer. I am wondering if any parts from the 97 would work for any repairs on the 2000 if i go ahead & buy it?

If it's a motor issue, you might run into problems. There is specific years that are compatible, I have a 99, and bought a 2003 for parts. I had to keep my intake manifold, and drivers side exhaust manifold. Everything else on the block was usable. I have a thread that I started asking for insight on engine differences... that might help, aswell as other threads on here has some info. I did try to get an older engine to do the swap, but the inners of the block are different.
