Thumbs up Another Blazer Forum Success Story

Well, about a week ago my heat stopped working. After a thorough flushing of my heater core I still had no heat. That is when I decided to do a little searching on the Forum. I dug up a how to on replacing the blend door actuator without removing the dash. Skipping that step is always a plus. Well, long-story-short, the blend door actuator WAS the culprit. Got it changed out and everything is working great. The autoshop quoted $730 parts and labor, because "It is impossible to change that part out without pulling the whole dash." Well, looks like Blazer Forum proved them wrong and saved me nearly 600 bucks while doing it.

Any chance you have the link to that little gem on hand still?
This might not be a bad place to put it.... *veils that fact that he wants this link masterfuly*

BTW I haven't seen you around for a bit Yooper, How's Alaska Treating you?
Thank God every single day that you are up there (since it is not recruiting) because you made an AWESOME call.

That is my favorite part of doing things myself. Even if it is a PITA job, I still enjoy doing it, because of the satisfaction and knowing that no shortcuts were taken in the process.

ABN31B: I haven't reported to Alaska yet. I just redeployed from Iraq last month. My report date is 10JAN. Right now I am just getting things ready for the PCS. With PCS leave I will be leaving Fort Riley in the first week of December.

Here is a link to the post on the blend door replacement without removing the dash like the "experts" say is neccessary.

Welcome back to the "civiliazed world" then. Don't blow all that combat pay in one place (we NEED a new bedroom set my ***!)
Thanks for the link! GL in the great white north. Being from Mi you should have a leg up on most of the guys that will be reporting to Alaska in jan
