sort of.

they focus the light better. focused light will light up the road much better than an unfocused light which can shine light up into the air where you dont need it. they basically make the light shine on the road in front of you and off to the sides a little bit. instead of just... light everywhere

You can buy just the bulbs, and they average $100 or so, give or take a few bucks.

OK here are pics finally of my HID's with stock housing. Now the camera setting is a little screwed up because I'm still figuring out the settings.

Pilot 8000k HID's, yes my headlights are aimed down but thats only because I messed with the adjustment and never put it back to normal.

those look good. a little too blue for me but that could be a side-effect of the camera.

those stripes on the edges of the lit-up area are more amplified, but thats expected with bulb thats 2000 more lumens than a standard halogen.

Well the kit you got is 5000K so it should be more white than blue.

did you just add the top pic? i could have SWORN when i saw the pics earlier, it was just the bottom two... theres no message at the bottom saying "edited..."

yeah, i think the 5000's will be good enough for me. after seeing those pics, i think the ones my brother-in-law have are 10,000k. his are way blue-er than yours
