Auto 4WD

Is it ok to drive my truck with auto 4wd on. Its been raining freaken nutts down here and flooding most of the streets which has cause numerous accidents around here.

I heard it wears out the tires and gives bad fuel economy, but i don't know.

Its in 2hi untill the system feels slipage and then the 4hi engages

Your fuel economy will suffer though. Thats the only down side I believe.

Pfft it already suffers. I need new tires anyways. I know it was 2hi until slippage thats why i thought it was ok to use.

Its fine to use. The only difference between 2hi and auto when no slip is detected, is that the front axle is engaged all of the time in auto4wd, but it isn't always being driven by the transfer case.
