Default Black box connected to wiring 2000 chevy blazer

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer that has a new battery, new air flow sensor, new distributor cap, had the catalytic converter checked. My mechanic is great but has found a black box under the hood that is drawing the power draining the battery. If they go around it then it won't start at all. Has anyone run into this before?

I am not sure what purpose it has just how the mechanic says the truck reacts to it. Draining power from the battery when car is off and if he wires around it the truck won't even turnover. I am going to try to post a pic for other reply also.

...Fuse box, Blower motor, PCM, ABS Module, Wiper Motor, or possibly a botched aftermarket Antitheft or autostart. etc. could be talking about any of those, please post a picture.
