Default Blazer/Donor truck/Engine Swap

Hi guys, I'm a youngin and brand new to the Blazer world Just worked out a deal with my older brother for his 2-door 1990 Blazer. He did a lot of work to the car, and even bought a new engine a while back. The thing purrs. Anyhow, his wife forced him to drop the truck and get a mini-van. Whipped, haha, I know

The truck's body is in pretty bad shape, although the frame is good. I'm looking for a donor truck I can slip the engine/transmission in. Since I'm new to this, I want the easiest swap. The truck is a 2 door, 4x4, 1990 s10 blazer tahoe, 4.3L. Can I use any Blazer/Jimmy from 1983 to 1994, or would it be better to stick to 1990? Any advice would be greatly appreciated here. Thanks.

probably going to have to get around the same year, or as close to it as possible. lot of the older ones were 2.8 engines. some hard carburetors, some had throttle body, there were a few different fuel injection systems. so for just a bolt in and go your probably going to want pretty much the exact motor you have in there now

This might be a silly question, but if I found a k5 donor of the same year, would that be an easy swap or would that be a whole different ballgame?

I'd like to have a bit more room inside, which is why the 91' 4 door s10 is appealing for me. Being that this one is a 90' 2 door, would that still work as an "quick and painless" swap for a newbie like myself?
