I bought a 98 blazer under a salvage title. But when I did work on my car and got parts. The parts like the fuel filter and spark plugs didn't work out. I checked the catylst tag. It said 1996, 4.3 etc. So I went back and got parts for that year. And they worked and fit properly.

When I gave the DMV information for the vehicle. All the paper work and both vin number locations on the door and visible from the windshield above the steering wheel are. All state a vin for the 98 blazer.

Has anyone had this happen before. Where a bought used vehicle has two different informations and the parts are for the year not listed on the vin?
