I had considered that. It's just strange how it does the surging only when I go from Park into any other gear. It starts up and idles normally until I take it out of Park. Makes me think it might be something binding in the throttle cable somehow.

 

Ran some sea foam through the throttle body the other day and the surging went away. Nice low buck victory there.
Also scored these Bravada hvac *****. Much nicer.

Your new Blazer looks like a great buy for $800 bucks from the pics I have honestly never given any thought on buying a Blazer that wasn't 4x4, but maybe I am missing out lol...

 

I'm from Georgia. We don't get much snow here so there's no salt on the roads or much reason to have a 4 wheel drive other than recreational use.. Seems to be a fifty/fifty split of 2wd and 4wd on the road here based on what I've seen. But you can't get on the road without seeing some form of these vehicles still rolling. Makes me proud to have my Blazer and especially my 03 S-10 😁

 

I would agree, southern and southwest vehicles hardly, if ever see snow and ice which means salt trucks lol... Don't have 2 worry about a ton of rust...

 

Been a while since I did anything to this thing but since it's currently my only vehicle I've been making progress on it.
Installed new pads and rotors front and back last weekend. Front pads were so thin I think it would have been scraping metal the very next time I stopped lol. Rear pads were also thin and had the expected uneven wear from the bottom caliper slide pin being seized. Upgraded to drilled/slotted rotors and carbon ceramic pads. Much better braking now of course
Also got rid of the P0420 code with an ebay O2 sensor spacer 👍.
Then I removed the cruddy old pinstripes from the sides with a can of decal remover and a razor scraper. After watching a bunch of videos on how to do it and remembering my experience with those rubber erase wheels I decided the razor would be the best option. I'll have to do some wet sanding to get rid of the ghost stripes but that's ok it needs some attention to the paint overall anyway.
