Brazilian equivalent to the K5
Well, since it came in 2WD only, C5 would be more accurate...
It was known as Chevrolet Bonanza, and made from '89 to '94.
Since the Chevrolet Veraneio, a local derivative of the Suburban widely used in Brazil by law-enforcement agencies, was phased out along the Bonanza, there was an interim model known as Chevrolet Veraneio M which was basically an Argentinian C-20 (or D-20 when Diesel-powered) with a third-party bodywork. It was phased out in '97 along the C-20 when the GMT400 Silverado C2500 started to be made in Argentina and the 2nd-gen S10 Blazer made in Brazil was already consolidated in the law enforcement segment.
Engines were the good old 250cu.in. straight-6 available as both gasoline-powered and dedicated-ethanol for the Bonanza and only gasoline-powered for the Veraneio M. While the Bonanza was still carburettor-fed, the Veraneio M got the Lotus-tuned MPFI version shared with Brazilian versions of the Opel Omega and subsequently used in the Argentinian GMT400. Diesel option was a 4.0L Maxion S4T 4-cyl turbodiesel. There was no option for automatic transmission, only 5-speed manuals.
