Default A/C compressor

Turned on my A/C this afternoon & the compreassor locked up & killed the engine. Shut it off & made it home OK. What gives, anyone else had this trouble?

Sounds like the bearings have seized. I had this happen to my old Intrepid when I was driving down the road. Shredded the A/C drive belt (which was separate from everything else on the 3.5L v6 thankfully). New compressor, a full system flush, new filter/dryer, and possibly a new orifice tube is probably in your future.

I called the dealer I bought it from, Prescott Honda. They told me to bring it to Prescott 150 miles away & they would give us a loaner & fix it. Talk about service after the sale. That is why the foriegn cars are taking over. Because of there dealers.
