Was it used in the Blazer Chalet's they mention on the front of the magazine? Or is it in other models?

or how about when one side wants to "pull".

i thought it was bad enough when you break a gear set in a regular 4WD system, can you imagine the PITA for setting up that system?

definately something i've never seen before. would be interesting to hear from Dana on this, see what their company records show.

probably wouldn't be able to get a good answer on it though, especially with how the company has been going in the last couple of years.

I was lookin around Google and found a e-mail convo about a guy with one in Portland. He said theres ONE guy in Michigan that still sells parts for it.

I thought Dana folded up... or was sold, something like that. Can you imagine doing a complete universal joint or gearing ratio change change?! All the vans I have seen used a straight axle... I guess that was one of the first IFS 4 wheel drive systems eh?

I know this thread is old(er)but I was thinking. Would Acura's SH-AWD be a derivative of this system. I know its not the exact same, but maybe somewhere down the line a guy replaced the drive shafts with clutches and Solenoids? Just a thought stirring around my empty head lol.
