Default A couple questions from a new member

Hey guys, I just bought this Blazer and I have a couple questions. I can see the frame CLEARLY so I was thinking the previous owner has done a body lift to it. I attached a picture. Does anyone think they can tell me if this blazer does have a body lift and if so, how many inches?

Also, I am getting a very high pitched squeak coming from the left side of the blazer. Possibly a suspension component?? Does anyone have any experience with a squeak like this. It's REALLY irritating. Thanks a bunch guys!

It doesn't look like it has a body lift to me. You can normally see that part of the frame on a blazer. It does look like they might have cranked the torsion bars up a little.

As for the squeak, when does it do it? When you hit a bump?

im with him, those tires look small in that well. looks like they cranked the torsion bars a bit.

are those 235/75/15's?

blazer looks newer, so one would assume the torsion bars havent started sagging yet, check how many threads you have left on the adjuster bolts

I agree, I would say somebody crancked the torsion bars to level the truck.

Here agian.. Agreed. The squeel if its doing it during braking or all the time the obviously check your brakes. If not we need a little more info to try and help diagnose it.

On the left I had an issue with my E-brake cable rubbing the frame and squeaking, I had some plastic wire loom and I just wrapped it around. It stopped for a while and then the leaf-spring bushings started squeaking on me... I just sprayed them with a shot of WD-40 every 2-3 weeks if it started again (gave up during the winter, even my Sierra squeaks like a geezer)

As far as body lift... nope that's stock height.

It does look like your tires may be undersized though? Check the door tag, if it's an 02+ I think it ran 235/75/15, at least my 05 did. I had an argument with the tire shop and I made the guy go look at my tag instead of what his computer was telling him.

Thanks for all the quick replies and help guys! I know I'm gunna like this forum The squeak happens whenever I hit a bump at low speed and whenever I reach about 60 mph. I just took it out for a drive and I'm convinced it is some part of the suspension, but I don't have a clue which part. I will check the threads for the torsion bar in a minute. Also, I'm about to take my Blazer to the shop for a full inspection. No point in lifting it if it's falling apart!

Mine was squeaking on the left because I had used my jack and didn't put it back like it's supposed to be. Drove me crazy until I figured it out.

I have another idea... If your spare tire is mounted inside behind the passenger seat, just tighten the clamp...
