That listing wont effect the insurance payout...there's a reason why that listing is still up...its wayyyy too much money for a 232k mile vehicle

Insurance goes of NADA values, not market prices. If they did market prices, they could never give you an accurate premium as prices would constantly be changing...not just dropping over time with depreciation tables.. Its too bad though...all we'd have to do is buddy up with a dealership, list a blazer at $15k, and all wreck our trucks

Actually... you are right/wrong.... My adjuster told me that if I could prove that the vehicles had a higher value within my area, they would "ADJUST" their values closer... Not that they would give me that... but yea... they could do a little more... we will see how much tomorrow

Well without further discussion... Looks like it will be bought back... and running in the next few weeks... just will replace the radiator and its support and take off the fenders and hood and have a small "toy" until winter is over...

Will have it parked in the Fiancee's garage, and depending on finances will slowly crawl the junkyards and put it in the build section... Making a premature post on it today and any input for what NOT to do... is greatly appreciated...

Sounds like you're making out pretty good. Let us know all of the final details of how it works out.

What NOT to do.... hmmm
Dont finish putting it back together, then sell it/trade it in any time soon. As a totaled vehicle you will get NOTHING for it's trade/sell value

Here in Iowa a branded car is said to be worth 50% of what it would be with a clear title.

ok, i guess that means i need to clarify... you get screwed in the process of sell/trade. When i said nothing i didn't mean 0, i meant, you will get hosed value wise.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear either. I knew where you were going with that.

I was just wondering if it was the same percentage anywhere in the US or not.

Um... it wouldnt be a main vehicle... and I dont plan on selling it..... I could easily use it as a parts truck if i get another blazer....
