So I finally found a new body for my rusted 4x4, the only prob. isthat itis an 02 2wd and I am keeping all the factory 97 stuff. Will the body bolt on to my frame? Will all the electrical connections be the same? Anyone see any problems with what I wanna do?

There were some significant changes between the 97 and 98 vehicles in regards to interior and electrical. If you can swap the complete dash, you may be able to get everything to work. But that is a big IF. The body should physically bolt on properly.

yah I was going to switch the whole int. because the 02 has the ugly brown int. and the 97 has gray...so thats what I am going to do.
What about the doors. I know the handles and locks are dif. how can I make my door panels work??

why don't you just cut where the rust is then cut the same piece off of the other body? IMO it wwould be alost easier than taking everything out, taking body off, putting new body on, putting everything back in, making sure everything works, and so so. yea you might have to repaint the body but it might just be work it.

IMOthis is easier.
I also changed my mind, I amgoing to use the 972wd frame for the 02 with all the 02 stuff inside and rear end with discs(yahhh). The only thing im using from the 97 is the frame, motor, and exhaust.

wouldn't you lose your 4wd then?

Be careful. The 02 electronics are quite different. Your 97 will have one more O2 sensor and the 02 will not have an EGR valve. The 02 will also have different wiring for the knock sensor. The 02 4.3L has different machining for the knock sensor as well.

He is keeping the truck that is 4wd. He has another blazer in the garage that is 2wd. That is the frame that he is using.
We got the body completely off the 97 today. The 02 is being delivered on Monday, so that will give us a couple of days to clean the frame up. Attached are a couple of pictures of the 97 frame and the body.
We will definitely have to look into the wiring.
Thanks for the help so far.
