I guess the gear difference is why I outrun that ZR2 on speed that time a few years back at the dragstrip..

Edit: I thought I was sure to get some ruffled feathers from that one! haha, I was only jokin around folks

Yeah I've rode in a zr2, they're real quick at a take off but lose that pulling power after 2nd gear lol

I just got my ZR2 a month ago and I was very surprised how much power the little 4.3 has. I'm a V8 guy and this is the first 4.3 I've owned.

I've surprised a few ricers by getting a jump on them at a traffic light

Yeah these 4.3s are pretty quick, I had a 302 in my last truck and it's still peppy like a v8

Thats right, the 4.3 will get it moving if you want it to. I don't really dogg it a lot though, it likes that liquid gold to much. I did run a factory ZR2 S-10 pickup at the Drag Strip after I first got my blazer. After 40mph I passed and pulled away slowly. My gears are 3.42 his 3.7tysomething. Nonetheless he does do better off road than I do, which to me is what matters

Yeah if you're going 40+ off road, there's a problem.

Nobody mentioned that the ZR2's also have a cast iron front diff housing instead of the weak aluminum housing in the rest.

Only the five speeds have the iron front diff.

One other differences, depending on the year, is the ZR2s came with carbon fiber skid plates vs the plastic ones. Both ZR2's and non-ZR2s in earlier years came with the aluminum skids.

And don't forget, on a ZR2 the rear wiper is completely, totally useless.

Don't recall if it has been mentioned but the wheel wells really are wider on a ZR2.
