Hey. Mine works great after I swapped it out with the guy that actually fixes them on e-bay. They're selling kits for older full size trucks from Classic Parts to convert from analog to digital. Got no problem with them.

They do seem to be making a come back. All the new civic's have them, the insight, the Ford Fusion, and the list goes on (those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head). Not sure which I prefer. I definitely think the older 80's/90's style digi gauges are tacky and were just a horrible fad, but with the new technology the newer digi gauges are turning out pretty nice. The stuff they can do with them now is just impressive (look up the Lexus LFA gauges).

I've seen the digital gauges in 4 different 1st gens. Not one of them worked. One was family owned since it was new, and the girl's dad said litterally a week after buying it the gauges all went out and had to had them replaced frequently by the dealership until the warranty was up.

The LFA's guages are "analog" digital lol... the reason being is the RPM's fluctuate too fast for a true analog guage to keep track, they need the digital display.

The issue with the time needed to comprehend the digital guages from the 1st gens was that the display used a "scale" with bars that filled up to give you your speed/rpm... If you weren't used to it it was confusing as hell in a handbasket...

New guages just give you a number (at least in the Civic) for speed, and as for the tach Aren't they non-existant in Civic's? Meaning that rice-luvr's have to put those cheesy auto-parts-store tach on their dashs meant for muscle cars w/ 4 spds?
