Default Does anyone know what belongs here?

Hello, I bought a 2000 blazerLT 4x4 recently(my second blazer)
It looks like it's missing some kind of button from the inside of the rear hatch.
It is towards the bottom corner on the passenger side of the vehicle. I'm just wondering what used to be there and what it's for. I may replace it later, not sure why it was removed.
Thanks for any help.

I have a couple pictures I'm trying to upload to show you what I'm talking about.

In this first picture the missing "button" is towards the bottom left corner of the picture.

I can't add the second picture, if somebody could tell me how to do that I'd appreciate it.

i dont think a button goes there,
I could be wrong, but it looks like they had to gain access to the inside of the gate to get it to open once when it failed to open. I think that is the area, again, not 100%

There is a strap that attaches there for vertically challenged people to close the lift gate

Hey thanks! That helps a lot, I'll plan on replacing that sometime in the future, although, I'm not vertically challenged so that shouldn't be a problem for myself.

Ahh there we go. I thought it might have been someone who had cut that access hole to gain access to the inside when it wont open.
Thanks for clearing it all up
