Default Door light switch

My driver side door switch got bent some how so the lights wouldn't ever turn off. My solution to fixing it was to hit the button so the lights don't turn on when the door was open. Well my wife complained enough so I ordered the $8 part of Amazon a few days ago. After thinking about it I went out last night and was going to take the passenger side one and put in the driver side for the time being. However when I went to take out the passenger side it wasn't connected to anything at all. I swapped them and everything works now. Why would Chevy put a switch on the passenger side that is the same to the driver side with out plugging it in?

I've read about other people doing this on here before. Glad you figured it out.

Why does Chevy do most of the stuff they do? Someone felt it would save time and was, more than likely, a pincher!
