external spare tire?

external spare tire?
I have a 94 s10 Blazer. It didnt come with the spare tire carrier on the tailgate.
I would like to install one. Were all of the bodies capable of accepting this option or do I actually need to do some fab work to that corner (inside) to mount one?
I just want to get the spare tire out of the back, it takes up too much room. I figure I could probably get one of these spare tire carriers at the junk yard and recondition it easy enough.

Thanks for that. I was hoping the reinforcement would already be in the body. In the case that it isnt, the process doesnt look to bad.
I figured there would be a thread here somewhere, thanks for finding that for me.

thought 94's were still the first gen body style? the swing out carriers for the first gens are different. But some 4 doors did come with them so all of them probably have the reinforcement. My blazer didn't really have any but my carrier is holding out good.

Your absolutly correct about the 94 still being a first gen. But Id suspect its mostly the same process. I still have to pick up some strips of steel to reenforce my body with before I start even looking at putting mine on.
