Salvage title

Salvage title
Few months ago I bought a 99 Blazer with a salvage title. It's a real nice vehicle. Body is great runs like a champ, everything works fine. Had 107000 miles on it. I'm a salesman and run the daylights out of this thing all week and never a problem except for an intank fuel pump I had to replace which I see is pretty normal.. Why do you think it had a salvage title on it and what would I have to do to get a regular title for it?
Maybe at sometime it was wrecked I guess but it goes down the road at 70 like your on a cloud. The vehicle had all new brakes and tires and even the 4wd worked, and no rust on the body. Paid 2500.00 for it

well, more than likely it was totaled at one point in time, check it on one of those vin check websites, and as for getting a regular title, i would check the local DMV with whatever state you are in
i know here in minnesota vehicles dont have an emission requirement
but like i said check with your local one, and make sure it meets bumper standards, emissions standards, and safety inspected, if no problems then you should be able to get a regular title, if it was totaled, i would check the frame just to make sure
only reason i know of this stuff because i tried to bring a car across from canada..........

As said it was totaled at one point or time. Pretty sure you will never be able to get a regular title for it as that salvage title is a protective measure to let any other car buyers know. Most of the time it reduces the resale on the truck a good bit.

salvage titles are sometime put on by dealerships to void factory warrenties. usually when a car is brought in with substantial damage and they feel they no longer will accept liability for things breaking.
i saw a auction on TV that GM was selling off some of their bran new limited edition vehicles with a salvage title so there was no warrenty. most of them were out of the GM museum and were a 1 off...saw lots of insane vettes roll onto the auction block.

Yes but most of those kinds have excessive paper work proving they are not a ride somebody bought out of a wreak and fixed up. The price rarely drops for those types also.
