Default Fog Quandry

I have new clear corners coming any day, but no fog included. Do you think they can be modified to put a bulb in? They are the same kind Oktain has installed. If not, has anybody placed fog lights in the portals where the two hooks would be located? If so, I would like to see a photo.

Thanks

i would suggest putting lights where the tow hooks would be, ive seen a few guys try to mod the marker lights to make them into fogs and they ended up melting the lens of the light.

My bf just purchased a set of clear lights with the fog included for me (bday present) off of ebay. I think they were only $100 or so. Although you already purchased yours, there are lights out there that include the fog with the light.

Yep, I noticed those with the fog light included a bit too late. I suppose I will wait and see how the new clear corners look, and figure it out from there. Since i do not have tow hooks, I think a set would fit in there nicely with minor modifications required. Each portal is about 5" wide and a couple deep.

Too bad The next thing would be a set of LED signals with the fogs included! I would totally jump on those!

BTW: Some ideas below (My boyfriends 2 door collection) These aren't blazers but you could get something like the red tahoe on the right.

I've used the second slot for an additional turn signal. Problem is, when you cut the hole for the new lamp fitting, you need to cut off the clip at the back.

I overcame this by screwing the turn lights to the grille. (using a packer to get it centered).

Not sure it the reflector housing is good enough for fogs or not. If the fogs are a higher wattage they may melt the plastic.

Thanks for the inputs everyone. I am looking to go with either the KC Hilites 26 series or the 35 series. Both shold be manageable in the hook portal. Does anyone know if either of these should be a problem from a wiring perspective? Also, can i mount these either way, meaning pendant style or from the bottom.

Thanks,
Pete

Default Fog update

I"ve narrowed it down to the Hella 550 or 450 or the KC Hilites 26 series. I like the Hellas due to the fact they can be pendant mounted, and the mount is in the rear of the unit. The KC 26 will fit too, but I do not know if I can mount them pendant style. If you order the back up lights version of that unit, you then get top mounting hardware. I think the 550 is the nicest of the group, but will also be the tightest fit. The 450 and 26 series are pretty comprable. The portals for the tow hooks are an unusual shape, so a top mount, rear position mount setting is preferred.
