stick with felpro gaskets. For me it was because the car had other issues. it served me well but it was showing it's age. I had 285000 on the 3100 engine. Also I had a bad intake bolt. It was stripped and I had to drill it out. I think that contributed to the replacement gasket going bad.

Nope. Still recommend the felpros. Just trying to back up that with proper attention a vehicle CAN be saved after the LIM gasket goes bad. I'm not 100% sure WHAT actually went wrong the second time. But it was I think March 2005 when the grand am gave up the ghost. It had messed up alignment I never could get right and the hood was a different color when I got backed into (at a stop even). And I was stuck in traffic on the north side of Houston and had to get down to the south side. I was able to pull off and got some antifreeze. It would last about 15 minutes and the car would overheat. The entire engine was smoking by the time I got home. I had just bought the Jimmy and was tired of dealing with the GA so I said "drive it til it dies". which it did. Went to pick a part the following weekend. I would see it in the lot from time to time for the next couple months while looking for remaining parts to the Jimmy. Hard to miss a white grand am with a teal blue hood. Then it was gone.
