Tou want the number to be higher... You prolly have 3.73:1 right now... which is 3.73 turns of the driveshaft to one turn of the axle... More driveshaft turns makes for more tourque. At least thats how i umderstand it.

A top fuel drag car has gobs of power for accelerating cause they run like 5.11:1 gears.

Picture a mountain bike gears. The front sproket is small, the back is large equals more wheelie power but less top speed...

Ive never head ill-speak of detriot lockers before.

Eman, slow down a bit man. First off tell us what size tires you have or you are CERTAIN you are going to buy as they will affect anything we tell you. If you are stock tire size which i believe they all come with 235/75/15. Go open your glove box. you see that sticker inside that has a bunch of mumbo jump stuff like "gau1,zq1" etc etc? look for the ones that say like "gu1,gu2,gu3,g80" and post it back here. it'll tell us what you have now. tell us what you want to do with it. If you want more "off the line super awesome power" go 3:73 and do a engine swap. Just remember,if you want some good off the line gears, you are going to loose some top end power.
