hello everyone!
A little late, but I finally got around to joining the blazer forum. I have been on multiple forums for Volkswagen, jeep, and bmw and finally blazer..lol I picked up a blue 2002 chevy blazer 4x4 with 155k about 5 months ago for $1300 at a ford dealership I work at. When I bought it, it did not have any mechanical problems, the only thing is that it leaks oil. For precautionary measures (I am a maintenance freek lol) I replaced trans fluid/filter, engine oil, transfer case fluid, and rear diff fluid along with rad flush. did a full tune up, (had fun with spark plug #5) and valve cover gaskets. So far this truck has been the most reliable and I am hoping to have many more years with it. Being that I have owned 88 vw scirocco 16v, 97 jeep wrangler sahara, and 97 bmw 328is in the past.
Things I need to replace/fix:
-it has an exhaust leak right after the catback flange. looks like metal is cracked.
-it has a pretty bad oil leak, pretty sure it is the timing cover, but not really sure if its worth the replacement
-Was gonna replace front diff fluid
-sounds like a valve tap or an exhaust leak near manifold (idles fine) but kind of loud.
Looking forward to learning some things about blazers!

I meant spark plug #3, sorry. I inspected the cooler lines as I have heard of them being a common leak site and they look new and are not wet.
Also another problem I have once in a while is when I start it up it will start fine, but the rpm's will drop below 500 and start to sputter until it finally revs up to normal start up on its own. When I first bought the truck I replaced the air filter and cleaned the MAF, IAC and throttle body. not a huge problem, but as you can probably tell im a little bit of a perfectionist lol.
