Well, It was a little rough for me


I set aside today to get a few things done and this was one of them.

I started off reading the instructions, but ran into a few incidents while installing them.

First, I had read about the polarity issues, but didnt realize that you would have to change the fuse between changing the connection alignment...

Second, I had different fuses than MTopper, as he was lending a hand....

There is a little start up flicker in the unit itself, and the cord seems to be long enough to mount the ballasts out of the way, and the setup if I would have been prepared for the fuse sawps and not looking for a bad ground, it would have been rather quick.

Now it is the waiting game so I can review the lighting from the kit....

Just got home!!!!!

I have to say that I love the kit, I can honestly say that it is many many many times better than stock lights, and there is no flickering during driving.

I would recommend this kit to anyone on the conidtions that they,
1. Pick up extra fuses for determining the polarity (because ima dummy and blew 3 of em)
2. Be prepared to get high beamed... I had it once on the way back home...
3. Pick your kit carefully..... The 10K is more blue than I thought, but I like it.

I'm new to the forum and have been reading your thread with interest. I have a 2001 Blazer Uk Spec Rhd. Will your kits still fit with Rhd alignment and will you ship to the Uk?

well got the first kit in and spent a ton of time pissing around with it switching ballasts polarites you name it....finally broke down got some great online tech support and figured i was unlucky and got either 2 bad bulbs or 2 bad ballasts....did the warranty procedure and soon i had a new set show up. spent about 15-20 minutes got them put in, switched polarity and yippy...worked, that was a high beam kit, now to throw some in the low beams as well

Got my set in from hidextra today installation was very easy. I ordered the low beams 8000k. Only problem the passenger side quit working.

 

I bought 6000K low beams. Go them within 4 days, which is remarkable for shipping to Canada, even though it was express shipped. Neither of the lights would work consistently, and I determined it to be a bad bulb and bad ballast. Replacements took a couple weeks to get here (quite a long time), and they gave me a tracking number, but it was the customs number, so tracking had me fooled. Were under warranty and was free though, so no complaints there.

Have the HIDs on now and love them. Way brighter than even my Silverstar Ultra ($50) high beam bulbs. I would recommend 6000K. Nice and blue but looks clear on the road.



They don't appear quite that blue in person, but are a really nice colour. I love seeing the light in reflections. I fully recommend aiming your lights too. They are very bright, and illegal in most cases, so better to not attract attention to yourself and blind people.

 

Has anyone done a how to with pics. I know I'm an idiot when it comes to electronics, but when I tried to install mine, they didn't work. It looks like they just plug in, and I can't tell what I may have done incorrectly, but I'm sure I did something stupid.
