Ok here is my review on my HID kit.

I bought the H4 HI/LO 6000k kit.

Ordered on 12/29/2009 and received them 1/2/10. Even with the Holiday they were here fast from California to New York. Opening the kit it was well packaged plain white box with everything, including instructions inside. Parts included zip ties, mounting hardware (mounting plate, nuts and bolts, and double sided tape), two bulbs, and two ballasts.

I installed them on my 1st Gen 1994 s10 Blazer. I mounted the passenger side ballast in the fender well, with the mounting plate, and the drivers side I will mount inside fender as well (when its warmer then 1 degree).

Install was completed within 25 minutes. Instructions weren't need it was simply plug and play. Lights fired up on the first try. The 6000k kit fires up with a blue color but as they warm up they turn to a bright white, with a very slight (hard to notice) blue tint. Warm up time is about 10-15 seconds to the pure white light (in 15 degree weather). The low beams are excellent, they burn very bright. The high beams aren't anything to brag about, but I bought this kit with no intent to use the high beams.

I previously had 5000k ebay special xenon bulbs, worked great but had a hard time seeing, especially in the rain. Upgrading to the kit was amazing visibility is greatly increased. I have no troubles seeing at night with these lights.

In conclusion, the kit from HIDextra was a great price, well packaged, and great quality. I will come back for all my HID kits. Thank you HIDextra for your great service, communication, and exceptional quality of your products.

Pictures will follow shortly, I need to re-aim my lights and I will post plenty of pictures and maybe a video.

Update: Here's a quick video

I've got a couple of questions for you. I've got a 90 S10 Blazer w/ the same H6054 type of headlights. I'm assuming you got a H6054 to H4 conversion headlight, something like this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Can you post a link to the conversion headlights you purchased?

We're your highbeams better using the conversion headlights and using a halogen H4, or did the highbeams suck then also?

You mentioned that it was an easy plug and play, but Im assuming that's because your conversion kit came w/ adapters like the link I posted above/

Thanks. I wanna do the same conversion, but I've been worried about the light output going from stock, to an H6054 - H4 conversion, then wondering if throwing H4 HID's would suck or still get even better. I wrote the seller from the link above to show me a side-by-side comparison of his regular vs projector style kit, but of course I never got a reply.

Yes I did buy the H4 conversion, but not recently, about a year ago.

Highbeams were improved a little, but not too much with the conversion.

The conversion kit I bought can with the housings, and two xenon bulbs. No adapters were included. It was plug and play, all I needed to do was take out the old bulbs, put in the new bulbs the kit came in and plug everything together. Very simple.

The conversion is worth it without a doubt, it a bulb burned out you just had to buy a bulb not the whole housing all over. The link you posted is almost identical to the ones I have. Honestly though, I would never go back to halogen after getting the kit. Makes life so much easier. You figure if you go to the store your paying about $40 for good bulbs, why not pay a little extra and upgrade to the HID kit.

Just a question about the kit I purchased... was I supposed to receive any mounting hardware? Like brackets? I'm just curious I was looking at the kit thinking about installing it now that it's mild outside but I've seen other kits with brackets for the ballasts.

Thanks Michelle.

HI,

the kits will either come with brackets and adhesive, since the kits are prepacked from our manufacturing department we cannot choose, so i fyou didn't get brackets then it should have come with adhesive pads. Thanks for your understanding~~
