hood latch problem

Default hood latch problem

my 02 blazer's hood won't open. i try pulling on the cable and it still won't pop open. does anyone have a diagram showing the latch mechanism?? any other ideas?? thanks.

im guessing either the little thing that grabs onto the cable that pulls your opening mechanism came loose or you just need to pull up on your hood a little, then open it then it should work. sometimes these latches are a little screwy.

Mine used to do that, but a few liberal treatments with WD-40 and dry silicone got the system working flawlessly. But, you could have a problem with your latch I suppose.

When mine was stuck, I had to push down on the hood front and center then pop it up by hand, or, a hard whack by the rear hinges sometimes gets it loose. Worth a shot
