How long can a 4.3L last with NO OIL in it?

So weird i watched the 1st one yesterday.



I personally know how long it takes for one to blow. We had a 4.3 out of a 89 that had a bad cam,it had over 300k on it. We drained all the oil out but a quart and we just let it idle. We went inside the house for a little while to cool off. Came out 20 min later its still idling,rough,but idling. 45 min later it finally died,due to no gas. So it never did seize up,but im sure the bearings were about cooked anyways.

300k?! Wow

45 minutes? And it didn't stop because of no lubrication? Got to love Chevy engines.
