So I finally had time to work on 4wheel drive problem. I disconnected the 7 pin connector to stepper motor. Put key to run position, to my astonishment the 4wheel drive low light was lit. The gremlins just keep coming lol! I guess its time to pull out the wireing diagram and try to. I can see a manual shift setup in my future soon lol!

So I'm done chasing electrical gremlins! Just found out journeyoffrode sells a manual conversion kit part # np233-cvn. For $285.
