Talking I still love working on vehicles ...lol

I had a great Saturday playing grease monkey. I really gave my Blazer the once over today. I have resolved my oil leaks. I found out that all I have to do is replace the adapter on the radiator to fix my leaking transmission cooling line. ( I was relieved that I wont have to replace the whole line. ) After goosing the motor I discovered that I have a weak motor mount but its not bad enough to have to replace right away. And I have a tie rod end that will need to be replaced in the near future. A friend adjusted the torsion bar and that was what was causing the metal to metal sound , clanking. I have a noise coming from the exhaust ... I am thinking it is the heat shield around the catalytic converter. Nothing serious but it is kinda annoying. I am funny about vehicles making noise they shouldn't.

Now, I am off to dig the grease out from underneath my fingernails, and get all the dirt and grease out of my hair. I'm really loving my little Blazer now. I guess working on them is kinda like bonding with them.

welcome to Blazer ownership LOL

BTW Nitrile gloves will stand up to oil and most chemical and allow you to maintain dexterity
Cheap enough in boxes of 100
I find if I slip it rips the glove rather than busting a knuckle open
I carry a couple pairs in a Ziploc sandwich bag in each of my vehicles for roadside repairs or emergencies

What are gloves? Is it the black grease you get when working on cars?

Default Rubber

A couple pairs of rubber / nylon / cloth gloves are nice accessories and get much use. In cooler weather these are a neccesity.
For most mechanical work - I seldom am able to keep the gloves on throughout the complete procedure; since that one bolt or nut needs your fingers vs gloves to remove or install.
Seldom procedures can I walk away with spotless glove covered hands . . . .
