Default It's NOT the end of my Blazer days

With the transfer case shot and the tranny now giving me problems I think it's time to start thinking about selling the old girl. I was given the opportunity to acquire a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 60th Anniversary Edition for next to nothing, and while it will require some work to get it up to my expectations, it will take a lot less money than replacing a transfer case and tranny will. I took the Blazer off my insurance this evening and am considering putting it on the auction block at the local auto auction house. I'm sad as I write this. I've had her for almost 15 years. But as I'm only a couple of years away from retirement I just can't justify dumping more money into it. I replaced the tranny years ago for around $3000 and don't want to spend that kind of money again.
Everyone on here has helped me tremendously and I'll miss the friendship and interaction. I hope your Blazers run forever with no problems. Farewell..............Casey

Edit........... I just can't sell her. I haven't been able to think about much else today. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to store it until I retire and then put it up on jack stands and go to town on all the issues! I'll have all the time I need at that point to bring everything up to the way I like it. I plan on sticking around here for quite a while. Sorry for the previous "hasty" post. You won't get rid of me that easily. :-)

Sorry to hear you're getting rid of your Blazer. Good luck with the Jeep.

Sorry to that your Blazer is not worth fixing but all of our vehicles are wearing out with the newest 2nd gens being 14-15 years old. Be sure to feel welcome to stick around and share the knowledge you have learned.

I'm hoping to get another 5 years (I say that every year) so that I can afford a replacement. Considering my budget, I'm thinking a 10-yo 4-Runner would likely be my next SUV.

It would cost that much to ship them out here to WA state. Thanks for the offer but the Blazer is on hold indefinitely for the next couple of years, or if I come into a lot of money, which ever comes first. All money is going to restoring the Jeep right now.

Lol.. good to hear! Certain vehicles just have a habit of sticking around! I've let go of a few collectible ones and nice ones. My Jimmy and my beat, rusted out 82 K10 burban just seem to call to me so I do what I have to do to keep them around and running. My Jimmy is my DD but the burban only gets drove 1-2 times a year.

Glad that you reconsidered. I legit consider these things antiques now, there isn't much on the road like them for their price point. I'll never give mine up if I don't absolutely have to.
