Less weight
I don't think the hoods all that heavy... maybe like 50lbs or so...
I've never lifted a loose Blazer hood, but way back in the day of making forts and such, when I was like 8 years old, I lifted a hood from an old 80s half-ton truck... So they can't be all that heavy, lol. Just awkward...

If going to the extreme is what you want to take the chance on lol, then there is a company that makes everything carbon fiber for replacement pieces. They make doors, tailgates, hoods, fenders, bumpers, anything you can take off they either have or can make which cuts weight dramatically if that is an option to you. I think there name is carbon works, I was looking into using them on my 99 maxima when i was into racing alot but never went that far!
