you must have been lucky, any shop I talked to said I would have to, I thought i wouldn't need to because I have a body lift so I thought I would maybe have a little more room but I didn't I had to jack the motor up about 1-1.5" and even then it fought me I will change it.

dirfter666 you have to take the passenger engine mount blot to change the starter on the 2nd gens as well. did that on mine a year ago. I went to the gm place and they printed out the process to remove a starter and it didnt include the welded crossmember that is under the starter. so we had to move the engine to get it out.
