my 1998 blazer
i just got a 1998 chevy blazer 4dr,4wd and took it to the shop. they said it had $4000 worth of repairs that need to be done. the dealer did not say any thing about the problems . some of them are front end cv axels, pitman arm, idel arm, split fan blade, heater coil entake manifold leakes oil engien is missing vaccum hoses and stuff like that please tell what could make all that happen and if it is worth it to get it all fixed
Sounds like normal problems for our trucks, i'd hesitate to fix them all right away though. Can you bring it to somebody else and have them look at it? $4000 is a lot of money to spend repairing a 10 year old vehicle.
Last owner never took care of the truck. Most of the items that you listed are normal wear and tear items that always gets replaced. There's alot of work that needs to be done and from the sound of that... Go to another garage and get another quote.
Sounds like severe lack of maintenance on the previous owners part... I know that hind sight is always 20-20, but in the future I would hope you would have a mechanic look over a vehicle before you purchase it so as to keep this from happening again.
