Need a picture of 98+ bumper brace mount
#1
I'm wanting to order a grille guard for my 1997 blazer. Problem is, no one makes one for it, only for the 98+. They changed the bumper brace on the 98+. It bolts to body mount, which is different on the 98+.
I've been searching here, and at s10 forums, and there are several people who have put 98+ bumpers on their 95-97 trucks, but they either leave off the brace or bend the tubular one to fit the newer bumper.
I have pictures of mine with the bumper removed and I'm hoping someone can post a pic of theirs without the bumper and brace. I need to see if the difference is just a welded on piece, or an entirely different mount on the frame. Either way, I think I can make some brackets with heavy angle iron, but I would like to see what they are supposed to look like for reference.
.
Thanks!

After looking through a ton of pictures online, I finally found what I was looking for.

On 95-97 blazers, the mount is different. The rear part of it looks like the front on this one and doesn't have the holes for the bumper brace.
Surely it can't be that hard or costly to fab up a couple of brackets, I hope. There's a guy a couple blocks from me who's into the rock crawling scene and has a welding shop. I think I'll go pay him a visit tomorrow and see what he thinks.
Any ideas or suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated
