thanks everyone, I will keep in mine to look for an 03+ truck.
My dad is leaning towards wanting me to get a jeep.

anyone care to convince him with some pictures of why a blazer of a grand cherokee?

grand cherokees are unibody, thus less durable and easy to repair. blazers are body-on-frame, meaning if you mess it up, just replace body panels. they're easier to lift, easier to swap stuff out on, more dependable (in general). we have a saying at the shop where i work, when we see a grand cherokee come in. "boys, looks like the boat payment's taken care of this month!". Jeep transmissions are legendarily terrible. The 4L60E and 700R4 transmissions are damn near bulletproof.

yup yup yup.

although........those Cherokee's are still quite capable on the trails.


but i'd still rather have a Blazer or Jimmy.

I bleed Chevy orange , but I would never say that^^^^^

The 700r and 4L60 do 'OK' behind the 4.3, but are terrible behind a V8. Out of all of the trucks Ive owned, Ive had 6 4L60's take a dump on me, 2 behind 6 cylinders and the other 4 went behind 350's. All engines were bone stock and were not hot rodded. Chevy bulletproof trannys include a SM465 and a TH400, niether of which came in S10's obviously.
