okay guys so my 95 gmc jimmy has been a money pit since day one and so far ive put a little over 5 grand into it for repairs including motor swap now the last couple of days it keeps breaking down on me and ive come to the solution to not spend another dime on it and get rid of it. now im looking to replace it with another blazer as i currently have my eye on a 2000 blazer. my question is is there any certain year that was better then others? as i dont wanna buy another money pit that was as bad as my jimmy was. im kinda just looking for some opinions and maybe a little review and information on what to look out for before purchasing. thanks guys! hope to get some helpful tips!

Indian scouts always catch the arrows. You bought early in the generation so yup you got probs. The later (and less used) the better JMHO

I don't know that there are better years than others. I think 98+ is a safe bet. What's most important is the care the vehicle has received prior to you buying it. If I had known just how badly neglected my '98 Jimmy was before I bought it I would have passed on and let someone else buy it. Maintenance history is always super important. So is current condition.

the blazer im looking at picking up on thursday has right around 180k on it and the body and interior is in near mint condition i plan on getting as much info about it as possible like carfax and any maintenance prior to them getting it in and any repairs they have done and how it was driven by previous owner. i also plan on asking for a complete inspection of all fluids, drivetrain, suspension, electrical components, brakes etc and of course i will be test driving it in city and hwy i literally want everything gone through even do a compression check on all cylinders before i purchase it. if there is anything else i should ask them just let me know and ill have everything written down. also ive got them down to 2500 for it so far let me know what you guys think. thanks again

I'd go with '98 and up, and if you can find one a mid 2002-2005. They eliminated the EGR mid 2002. '98 and up have better front hubs, dual piston front brakes, and most came with 4 wheel disc brakes.
