New Blazer owner question
My son just purchased a 2001 4x4 Blazer and I was wondering if there was anything I should look for as he is not mechanically minded. He purchased the car without me being with him and I finally got to see it today and the only thing that jumps out is the ABS light is on.
Is the ABS a common issue with Blazers? He purchased it at a small used car lot and I told them to fix it before we pick it up so I am not too concerned.
The vehicle has 154,000 miles and for the $800 he paid, I really don't see how he could have gone wrong. Under the hood looks great and no obvious signs of any leaks anywhere.
Thoughts?

Jack up the front and check the whee[ hubs. Grab the top and the bottom of tire and wiggle it to see if there`s play, if so the hubs (or the ball joints) may be bad. do the same side to side, tie rods, idler arm pitman arm

I agree with you 100% but since he already purchased it and is supposedly picking it up on Wednesday, I thought I would look around the web to see what he "may be up against".

Have you heard how it runs, did your son get a chance to test drive it and if so did he notice anything that might feel out of the ordinary?I know alot of times a quick test drive doesnt bring out any noticible problems and its not till several days later the quirks start to show up.I would check all the fluids that would give you an indication how well this vehicle has been maintained.Look underneith and check for rust and other issues that may be present.Do a car fax search this might show you some of the vehicles history.

UPDATE:
I replaced the wheel speed sensor on my son's '00 Blazer and although the light was still on, I was told that it may take up to 12 drive cycles to clear the code so I took it for a test drive. I went about 1/4 mile and parked and shut the engine off. Upon restarting the vehicle the lights were out!
I rushed home to tell my son (with my chest pumped out) that we fixed it and he quickly took me for a ride to see for himself. After hitting the brakes the lights came back and stayed on. If we restart the vehicle we are good.
I thought it was only when we hit the brakes but my son says he was just "coasting" when they came back on for him.
Could this possibly be that the computer has the code remembered? Could ya'll guide me where else to look?
