new to blazers
i need an opinion from you blazer experts. i have a friend who is selling his 94 s10 blazer. it just turned 69000 miles on the original 4.3 v6. hes never had any problems with it and the tires are fairly new. the paint is in good condition, no major things wrong with it. he was asking 3500 and i didnt even think about it. but now he said he would give it to me for 2500. is this a good deal? i might try to get some pics later

I wouldn't buy anything that old, unless it was a sports car or something similar. Check the blue book value and go from there.

For a 1994, with low miles like that one, if it hasn't been wrecked badly or under water, I'd buy it for $2,500.00. That will be a good reliable truck for a long time...doesn't matter what year it is, but also keep in mind that the LAST year of ANY car is the best year! So you'll be buying a very good sport utility with very low miles for 2,500 bucks! Not many people can make that claim. Is it a 2wd or 4wd? And a word of advise, I never pay asking price for a vehicle. If he came down 1,000.00 he'll come down a few hundred more. I'd offer him $1,800, and work your way up...you'll be driving it for 2,200 bucks or less!

Heck yeah I'd buy it! I have a '94 that I bought for $1500 with 100k more miles on it. Listen to lastcoupe, he knows what he's talking about. You don't get to be a GM protechnician by being stupid!

That would be a good price for around here. On a retail lot it would probably be priced between $3500-$4000 based on appearance and mileage.

I agree, too. I paid more than that for my '91 a couple of years ago when it had twice as many miles as the '94 you are looking at. I also like the boxier, sturdier look. The hood and doors seem heavier than I'd expect on a newer car. I don't think I'd buy a newer Blazer than a '94. The '91 got better reviews in online surveys I saw than the '95 or later ones. I have had to put some money into it..... of course, on a car that old......... but the engine and tranny seem solid according to my mechanics. I like my Blazer. I would jump at the chance to buy one with that low of mileage for $2500.
